KUCHING: SMK Santubong C emerged as the champion for Men’s category of the 11th Series of the Sri Santubong Petanque National ‘Double’ Open Tournament 2017.
The team brought home RM5,000 cash alongside complementary trophy and medals. Following them in second and third were TLDM B and MIG Pahang, in which they brought home RM2,500 and RM1,500 alongside similar complementary prizes respectively.
The competition was held recently at the Santubong Petanque Complex and was organised by the Persatuan Sukan Petanque Bahagian Kuching (PSPBK) supported by the state Sports Council and LEA Sports Centre Sdn Bhd.
Meanwhile for the Women’s Category, the KEPS team was victorious against its two main competitors, JDT Benut and Putra Malaya 2 that were placed second and third respectively.
They each received RM1,600, RM800 and RM500 respectively alongside trophies and medals.
The next Petanque Kuching Open Championship is slated to be on the 15 October and 16 October this year.
