KUCHING: The Small and Medium Association of Sarawak (SME Sarawak) held a business networking session on Monday with a visiting 20-member delegation from Johor’s Hokkien Huay Kuan Association.
The delegation from its entrepreneur section was led by its President, Datuk Lim Teck Ming.
It gave both associations the opportunity to explore potential collaborations and strengthen economic ties.
SME Sarawak’s President, Jordan Ong, along with council members, were enthusiastic to work closely with the Hokkien Huay Kuan Association to promote shared growth, particularly in areas of commerce, industry and cultural exchange.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Hokkien Huay Kuan Association Johor Bahru and look forward to the potential collaborations that can arise from this meeting,” he said.
“By joining forces, we can enhance our economic relationships and drive mutual growth that benefits both our communities.”
He mentioned that even though the association was only formed at the end of 2019, right before Covid-19 struck, they quickly took action to assist members during the consequent hard times and helped many members by transferring information and relevant messages to the SMEs in Sarawak.
“Apart from concentrating on building businesses in Sarawak, the association is also focused on helping its members connect with others in Malaysia and globally.
“Today’s meeting marks another milestone for SME Sarawak in connecting with Johor’s entrepreneurs in various industries to foster more meaningful collaboration,” he said.
Lim who was equally positive highlighted the potential for joint initiatives that could lead to significant advancements in various sectors.
