KUCHING: The Sarawak Land Development Board (SLDB) has marked a significant milestone in its evolution with the official opening of its new corporate office and the unveiling of a refreshed logo, signalling a renewed commitment to driving sustainable and innovative growth in Sarawak’s agricultural sector.

Officiated by the Minister of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, the twin launch was held at the Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) building here today.

SLDB general manager Dr Harry Entebang described the new logo as a visual reflection of the board’s heritage and its forward-looking vision, encapsulating SLDB’s strategic focus on sustainability and practical innovation.

“Our new office is more than just a physical space — it is a hub for collaboration, planning, and implementation,” he said in his speech.

Dr Entebang emphasised that the transformation of SLDB aligns closely with the state’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), which centres on inclusivity, sustainability, and high-value economic growth.

“SLDB is proud to play a role in the realisation of PCDS 2030. Our efforts stem not just from ambition but from a deep sense of responsibility to contribute meaningfully towards Sarawak’s vision of becoming a net food exporter by 2030,” he added.

He reaffirmed SLDB’s commitment to its core vision of developing a strong and sustainable resource base through strategic engagement and agricultural innovation, with the ultimate goal of building high-income agro-communities.

Highlighting the board’s future direction, Dr Entebang said SLDB is poised to promote modern agriculture that balances economic viability with environmental responsibility.

“If entrusted with the management of agro-hubs, we are ready to transform them into centres of modern food production in Sarawak,” he said.

He also revealed plans for diversification into high-value crops and modern livestock farming, underlining that all initiatives will be geared towards generating real income growth and enhancing the quality of life for Sarawak’s rural and agricultural communities.
