BALINGIAN: Volunteers who help with the Sarawak ID and S Pay Global registration make it easier for eligible recipients of the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance Contribution (SKAS).
Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi said this gesture clearly shows that the Sarawak government under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg cares about its people.
“This also clearly proves that the Sarawak government views the digital economic landscape seriously as stated in the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS) 2030.
“Not only that, our government also clearly shows that the welfare of the people in both urban and rural areas is always prioritised,” he said.
He said this to reporters when inspecting the location for the Sarawak ID and S Pay Global registration programme at the Balingian Sub-district Office, here, recently.
Elaborating, he said veterans are among those who have difficulty in registering.
“However, with the presence of volunteers who assist in the registration, this makes things easier for these groups.
“There are also those who have difficulty registering, namely mobile phone users whose software cannot be updated and are not smartphones,” he explained.
