KUCHING: More than 100 people from various backgrounds flocked to the SPay Global office at City One shopping mall to resolve login issues with the Sarawak Basic Needs Assistance (SKAS) application.
A survey at the office revealed a long queue of people waiting to obtain numbers before being assisted by staff to address their concerns.
The counters, which are open from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm, were prepared to assist individuals struggling with their SPay Global registration process.
SPay Global staff clarify misconceptions, urge applicants to check eligibility first
“SKAS aid will be distributed in phases, and applicants only need to wait for the funds to be transferred into their accounts,” a staff member said yesterday (Jan 3).
The staff also clarified that the office does not handle SKAS registration but can guide applicants through the process.
“Most of them come to resolve issues such as updating phone numbers, regaining account access, and other technical problems,” the staff member said.
“However, some show up just to download the SPay Global application, mistakenly believing they will receive the aid immediately.”
The staff urged the public to check their eligibility for SKAS at http://sarawak.gov.my/skas before visiting the SPay Global office for further assistance.
“Some come without checking first and later discover they are not eligible,” the staff added.
