KUCHING: Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chung Hua 4 1/2 Mile has received a Minor Rural Project (MRP) funding of RM70,000 to enhance its educational facilities and programmes.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap presented two cheques for RM50,000 and RM20,000 during the school’s 75th Primary Six Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday (Jan 15).

“Getting a quality education is a cornerstone of personal and community development.

“By providing students with a conducive environment through good school facilities and equipment I hope to encourage and spark their interest in learning.

Every child deserves the chance to dream and achieve and we believe it is our collective responsibility to ensure they have the resources to do so,” he said during the event.

He said the RM50,000 grant will help the school purchase an LED screen for the school hall and other essential educational equipment.

The RM20,000 will assist the school in organising educational programmes and activities, including the graduation ceremony for their Primary Six students.

“Through the MRP, I will continue to prioritise people-centric programmes and activities that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we care for and serve.”

He called on the community to remain united and steadfast in supporting Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) vision of ensuring all Sarawakian children enjoy greater prosperity, high-income opportunities, and a healthy, sustainable environment through people-centric policies.
