In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations, Malaysia’s number one singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has come out with a new Raya single.
The track is called “Lip Lap Raya”, and it is co-composed by Ajay Amai, Glow Rush, Karim Karam and Mike Chan.
The song which combines the traditional inang and changung music, also includes dikir barat element. The lyrics touch on the joy of celebrating Hari Raya after two years of pandemic life.
Siti said that she is confident that the song would attract listeners even if they are only listening to it for the first time.
Generally, a brand new song will take some time to be accepted, but Siti said that “Lip Lap Raya” would appeal to music fans.
“I was excited and thrilled to have recorded the song. I hope it becomes an evergreen tune enjoyed by many in years to come,” said Siti in a press statement recently.
The official music video, directed by Aaron Lee, is currently available on Siti Nurhaliza’s YouTube channel.
Co-produced by Siti Nurhaliza Productions (M) Sdn.Bhd and Universal Music Malaysia, “Lip Lap Raya” is also available on all digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Joox, KKBOX, Deezer, YouTube Music, JOOX, KK Box and Deezer.
The last time the 43-year-old artiste put out a Raya song was in 2016, titled “Hari Kemenangan”.
