KUCHING: The districts of Simunjan, Bau and Marudi are now Covid-19 red zones after recording more than 40 cases of local infection within the last 14 days.

This was announced by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily Covid-19 update today (June 2).

“This brings the number of districts with red status to 29,” it added.

The committee said Song district has reverted to orange zone from red zone after recording a total of 39 locally transmitted in the past 14 days.

“The number of districts with orange status is four districts, while six districts remain with yellow status and one district with green status,” said SDMC.

The red zone code is attributed to areas of more than 40 cases, orange for 21 to 40 cases, yellow for one to 20 cases, and green when there are no cases recorded in 14 days.
