MIRI: Sibuti Member of Parliament Lukanisman Awang Sauni has called for continued support from voters in the forthcoming 15th General Election.
He said should the seat be retained by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), it would able to continue the fight to restore the state’s eroded rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
“During these four years, we have achieved much achievements and we want to continue to pursue and fight for Sarawak rights, thus it is important for us to retain the seat,” he pointed out.
“If the election is called, give your full support to us so that we can retain the seat,” he said during a Ngiling Tikai programme held at Tuai Rumah Mawan Lalen in Sungai Sukong, Lambir today.
“During my four years’ service as Sibuti MP, I’ve served under the oldest Prime Minister, the PM with the shortest term PM and now Datuk Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob … with the current political scenario, the election could be announced anytime from now,” he told the crowd.
Meanwhile, with the price of essential goods increasing drastically, Lukanisman hoped the federal government will reinstate subsidies for cooking oil and chicken.
“These are the things that we consume daily, the rakyat should not be burdened by price hikes,” he said.
At the Ngiling Tikai programme, Lukanisman pledged from his Minor Rural Project (MRP) fund a sum of RM3,000 to the Tuai Rumah Mawan’s women bureau.
