KUCHING: Sarawak Housing And Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA) Kuching branch (SKB) chairman Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok said SKB is committed in organising Home and Property Roadshows (HPR2022) for the benefit of SHEDA members and the public for updates on available properties in the market.
He told reporters at a press conference here yesterday that other than SHEDA members, the HPR2022 also welcomes all other developers, real estate agents and building related trades to participate in the HPR2022.
“It was noted that almost half of the 30 available booths have already been booked by SHEDA’s regular exhibitors which consisted of developers and financial institutions,” he said.
On the response to the roadshow, Sim said their outlook was mixed due to the economic slowdown and hoped all the global challenges will be gone.
He added that SHEDA had approached Bank Negara APK to help the borrowers.
“It’s better to buy near completed houses because it’s cheaper. In Sarawak, the only overhang or abandoned project is the Sentoria project,” he added.
In Sarawak, condominiums faced the most problems in selling to the market as the project is considered overhang if there were no buyers after nine months.
Meanwhile, the HPR2022 will be held on December 1-4 from 10am to 10pm.
