KUCHING: Bandar Kuching Service Centre has allocated about RM200,000 for improvements in maintenance, equipment, and facilities at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii said he was informed by the hospital that several non-medical equipment is needed to assist in SGH’s services.

These include the Acculan 4 Battery Dermatome, an ECG Machine, various computer equipment, electronic equipment, and more.

“In addition, SGH also needs pressure injury prevention accessories for patients (ripple mattress and foam dressing), computer needs for nurse supervisors/and chief nurses (ward managers), and ergonomic chairs for nurses.

“Furthermore, the hospital has requested donations to support several activities scheduled for the end of this year.

“I hope the activities organised can benefit the hospital staff in enhancing their skills and knowledge, as well as motivating nurses to work in a supportive environment,” he said in a statement today (Nov 8).

He also expressed the hope that the allocations used to purchase patient care equipment, especially in terms of pressure injury prevention, would make patient care more effective, improve quality, and enhance customer satisfaction.
