KUCHING: The Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations (SFCA) has lauded the leadership of Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg as the Premier who shaped Sarawak’s growth.
SFCA president Datuk Richard Wee pointed out that under the Premier’s leadership for the past eight years, Sarawak has witnessed significant boost in infrastructure, social welfare and economic development, positioning Sarawak as a progressive, inclusive and high-income state.
“The focus on infrastructural and basic utilities projects such as roads, bridges, electricity and water have significantly created the economic spinoffs,” he told Sarawak Tribune.
He added that for all the achievements in the increase of many fold in the revenue for Sarawak which enabled the Premier to roll out all the initiatives, Abang Johari has indeed made all Sarawakians proud to be Sarawakians.
“We, Sarawakians, are now the envy of many in other states. We are seen as progressive, inclusive and forward looking in our approach and policies.
“As Abang Johari has rightly pointed out that now we have achieved high income status for Sarawak, it is time to focus on the increase of all household income so that all Sarawakians will feel the benefit of the achievements of the economic development and policies.
“We look forward to more innovative and creative plans and strategies from him to witness and experience the fruition of his vision, objectives and goals in the years to come.
“We, the rakyat must continue to support and stand behind Abang Johari. With the backing of all ‘Anak Sarawak’ behind him, he will have the strength, steadfastness and fortitude to take Sarawak to greater heights,” Wee said.
