SIBU: Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) on Monday said the upgrading of the plank walk at the Bukit Lima Nature Reserve is already in progress.
It issued a statement to clarify recent reports which claimed that the project has yet to be addressed.
“The upgrading of the plank walk at Bukit Lima Nature Reserve is a priority for SFC,” said its General Manager, Abang Arabi Abang Aimran.
“We are committed to ensuring that this project not only enhances visitor safety but also preserves the natural environment that makes this reserve so special.
“Our phased approach allows us to balance progress with minimal disruption to both visitors and wildlife.”
He said as part of this effort, SFC has actively engaged with local communities and stakeholders to ensure the restoration meets both safety and environmental conservation standards.
The project is expected to be completed within this year.
SFC, he said, remains committed to the conservation and responsible management of Totally Protected Areas (TPAs), including Bukit Lima Nature Reserve.
“SFC appreciates the public’s patience and support as this important project progresses and encourages visitors to continue enjoying the natural beauty of Bukit Lima Nature Reserve responsibly,”he added.
