MERADONG: Seven Mesra Rakyat (People-Friendly) projects have been successfully completed in Meradong, bringing much-needed road upgrades to rural areas.
The projects were funded through allocations requested by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, who is also the Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman.
The Public Works Department (PWD) Sarikei Division and members of the Sarikei Constituency Service Centre also recently inspected the completed projects.
Speaking during the inspection, Gung Chiu Kion, who represented Huang, witnessed the handover ceremony of the completed sites.
The completed road upgrades include:
1. Yin Ho Road, Sungai Pilit
2. Puan Leh Yii Road, Sungai Meradong
3. Ling Kuok Fung Road, Siew Bakong Road
4. Ming Kwong Road, Siew Bakong Road, Sungai Bakong
5. Ting School Bus Road, Sungai Bakong-Meradong Road
6. Chieng Nguok Lee Road, Sing Hua Road, Sungai Bakong
7. Soong Lee Road, Soon Ming Road, Sungai Bakong
Residents in the area expressed their gratitude to Huang for his commitment to improving rural infrastructure and prioritising the needs of the people.
Also present during the inspection were the officers from PWD Sarikei Division, Markhzen Rahman Azlan Abdullah, Siti Nursalmah, and Nurashikin.
