KUCHING: Harbour Music Café & KTV and Emperor Kingdom KTV & Lounge here yesterday donated to the less fortunate as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) and in the spirit of Christmas.
Seven charities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) each received donations of RM1,000 during a simple ceremony held at the Social Welfare Council of Sarawak (SWCS) office.
The beneficiaries are SWCS, the Salvation Army, Kuching and Samarahan Division Cerebral Palsy Association (Wishesland), Sarawak Society for Parents of Children with Special Needs (Pibakat), Sarawak Society for the Deaf, Pusat Perkhidmatan Warga Emas, and Kuching Austistic Assocation.
John Ho of Harbour Music Café & KTV and Emperor Kingdom KTV & Lounge handed over the donations to representatives from the NGOs.
The two companies strive to set an example by encouraging their employees and friends to give back to the underprivileged via charitable activities.
At the event, SWCS president Major Francis Ng expressed his gratitude towards the generous support received.
“We are honoured to provide ongoing services to the community. We know that the charities and NGOs have been working very hard,” he said.
Wishesland president Chi Poh Yung, said, “We are building a boccia arena for our members who have cerebral palsy and spinal injuries to train at.”
