SERIAN: An elderly motorist was killed when a car he was driving collided with a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle at km4, Jalan Serian-Tebedu last Friday.
Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident happened around 6.20pm when both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions.
Investigations found that the 4WD vehicle travelling from Serian, was turning right into Kampung Tangga Pulau Tamba Cina junction when the victim’s car travelling from Tebedu, suddenly crashed into the 4WD.
“As a result, the victim identified as Zainal Abidin Mohidin, 73, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
“The victim’s body was later taken to Serian Hospital for further actions,” he said.
The driver of the 4WD vehicle, aged 67, was unharmed in the incident.
