KUCHING: A total of 72 outlets involving 1,395 entrepreneurs are participating in the Semarak Syawal 1446H 2025 programme until March 30, targeting a total sales value of RM5 million.
According to Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) director general Abdul Rashid Bahri, the programme is held throughout the nation to help people get essential goods to address the effects of rising prices and the cost of living.
“The programme helps to increase awareness and preparation for Syawal and helps the community make early preparations by obtaining quality and affordable daily necessities, providing direct access to fresh and quality products, increasing income of entrepreneurs and farmers, and to offer special promotions and savings for selected items to ease the burden of consumers preparing for Syawal,” he said.
He said this when launching the Semarak Syawal 1446H 2025 state level programme at the Medan Niaga Satok, here Saturday.
Medan Niaga Satok was chosen as it is a focal market for residents around the city.
In conjunction with the programme launching, various activities were held, among which were the Agro MADANI Sales (JAM) by Samarahan Operations Centre, FAMA Sarawak, selling 500 combo packs (cooking oil, sugar, flour, potatoes and coconut milk packets) at RM10 per combo, which is a saving of RM5; one metric ton of whole chicken at RM10 each, a saving of RM5; sale of Grade B Selenium eggs at RM15 per tray, a saving of RM4; promotional sales of agro-based industry products (IAT) by local entrepreneurs and Agro MADANI (JAM) sales by Usahawan Daging SegarFresh Meat Entrepreneurs.
