KUCHING: The Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) demonstrated its commitment to social and spiritual development through a significant contribution of religious items and equipment to Persatuan Persaudaraan Dayak Islam Malaysia (PEDI) at Masjid Kampung Darul Islam Belimbing, Padawan, today (Dec 20).

The contribution includes essential religious items: 200 funeral preparation kits (100 each for men and women), 100 Al-Qurans, a stainless-steel funeral bathing facility, 100 Al-Ma’thurat prayer books, and 300 prayer mats, all donated collectively by SEDC staff. These items will be distributed by PEDI to support the needs of the Dayak Muslim community.

SEDC Chief of Group Corporate Services Rakayah Hamdan said that, as a government agency that has served Sarawak for over 50 years, SEDC’s focus extends beyond economic growth to encompass spiritual and social welfare.

“Through this contribution, we aim to strengthen the foundation of Islamic learning and practice within the Dayak Muslim community while fostering social harmony among Sarawak’s diverse population,” she said during the handover ceremony.
