KUCHING: A security guard was sentenced to five years jail by the Sessions Court here for robbing a 24-hour convenience store of 10 branded cigarettes, four cans of alcoholic beverages and RM60 cash last July.
Judge Maris Agan sentenced Zainol Julai, 26, who pleaded guilty to the charge today (21 September).
Zainol committed the offence at a 24-hour convenience store in Jalan Stutong around 8.30pm on July 13.
The charge, framed under Section 392 of the Penal Code provides for a prison sentence of up to 14 years, fine and whipping upon conviction.
