SEBAUH: Various development projects are currently underway and planned for Sebauh to elevate the town’s status to that of a city in the future.
Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom stated that key projects include the construction of a mosque, a church, a stadium, and the Sebauh Bridge, which will be completed in due time.
“The Sebauh Waterfront development project, which has been proposed to the Bintulu Development Authority, will also be implemented.
“The implementation of these projects will transform the landscape of Sebauh Town with the goal of upgrading its status from a town to a city,” he said.
Dr Rundi said this in his speech during the Aidilfitri celebration organised by the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Hilir Sebauh, held at the Kampung Hilir Community Hall on Thursday.
He also announced that the construction of the new Sebauh Township has already been approved.
He added that the Sebauh Bridge, once completed, will become the main access route to surrounding areas and open up broader development opportunities.
“Once the Sebauh Bridge is completed, we will witness major changes – not only in terms of infrastructure development but also in the socioeconomic aspects of the local community,” he said.
As a sign of support for the community, he announced a contribution of RM30,000 to the JKKK of Kampung Hilir Sebauh, and RM10,000 to the women’s bureau of JKKK Kampung Hilir Sebauh to carry out recreational activities that benefit the residents.
