KUCHING: The RM5.5 million St Joseph’s School Mill Hill Block restoration project is scheduled to complete on April 30 this year.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the state government has allocated RM4 million for the project while the remaining RM1.5 million were contributed by the school’s present and former students, staff and private individuals.
“Similar to the earlier tradition of other classroom block, nine classrooms in the Mill Hill block will be named after the contributors for the restoration project.
“They are Sarawak government who allocated RM4 million, Malaysian government (RM200,000), Weida (RM200,000), Class of 1970/72 (RM106,842), Form Five 1977 (RM102,500), Class 1983/85 (RM102,500), TYT Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud (RM100,000) and Tan Sri George Chan (RM100,000),” he said.
He said this in his Facebook post after visiting the project site with the 1970 Old Josephians Association Committee last Saturday (March 13).
