KUCHING: The Satok constituency is set to undergo various developments following the full approval of several infrastructure projects in the area.
Satok assemblyman, Datuk Ibrahim Baki, said all development and upgrading projects proposed for his constituency have received 100 per cent approval.
He added that implementing agencies, such as Kuching North City Hall (DBKU), the Public Works Department (JKR) and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) among others, will soon begin work on their respective responsibilities.
One of the key upcoming projects includes the construction of a waterfront that will span Kampung Bintangor Kecil and the Satok Suspension Bridge.
“We’ve received approval to develop the waterfront.
“Once completed, the area will be more beautiful and residents will have a new space for various recreational activities,” he said.
Ibrahim, who is also Utility (Sarawak Energy Bhd and PETROS) Deputy Minister, made these remarks during the Aidilfitri gathering hosted by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Zone 1 Satok branch at SK Rakyat Bolhassan last night.
He also said that a stakeholder meeting is planned in conjunction with piling works set to begin at the end of the year.
According to him, further engagement sessions between stakeholders and the public are expected as the development progresses.
