KUCHING: The Sarawak trio of Mohamad Hasbullah Mood, Ayu Arash Aqasha Mood and Kabilan Jelevan made waves internationally, testing their skills in Thailand and setting their sights on even greater challenges in the year ahead.
The three fighters were in Thailand last weekend to test their abilities against muay thai’s finest fighters there.
Kabilan, fresh off a highly competitive muay thai bout in Thailand, claimed victory by decision against a formidable Myanmar opponent, Hla Win.
“I was able to showcase more of my muay thai techniques this time. In my previous fight, I only won one round, but this time, I brought a more complete performance,” Kabilan said.
He credited his coach Petchsila Frem for refining his skills and imparting valuable techniques that have made a marked difference in his fighting style.
With his sights firmly set on the future, Kabilan is eyeing the Rentap Championship in January 2025, while also hoping for a return to ONE Championship in the near future.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Hasbullah made an explosive impact in Thailand, triumphing over Puenthai Pornchimplee with a Round 2 TKO.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to win by TKO, just as we planned. The training paid off, and it feels incredible to see the hard work come to fruition,” Hasbullah reflected, brimming with pride.
His experience at MaxMuay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand, has only fuelled his desire to keep pushing the limits and therefore, he is focused on further victories, starting with the Rentap Championship in January, where he aims to extend his winning streak.
Ayu, the third member of this powerhouse trio, delivered a breathtaking Round 1 TKO victory over Sueaarun Sorarunchai, his performance further solidified his place among the rising stars of the local Muay Thai scene.
“This was my first time fighting in Pattaya, and watching ONE Championship live was a dream come true.
“We set our goal to win in the first round, and to achieve that feels absolutely amazing,” Ayu said.
The three fighters shared their experience with reporters last night (Dec 23) at the Kuching International Airport.
As with his teammates, Ayu’s focus is now on the Rentap Championship, where he aims to build on this momentum and continue impressing in the ring.
Looking ahead to 2025, the Sarawakian fighters are entering a crucial year, one that promises to be filled with fierce competition and thrilling opportunities.
The Rentap Championship in January will be a defining event for these fighters, who are training harder than ever to make their mark.
“We’re focused, determined, and ready for whatever comes next. This is just the beginning of something bigger,” Kabilan said.
As they continue to push themselves in training and the three fighters are aiming to carry on with the momentum they’ve built in 2024, 2025 is sure to be a year to remember.
