KUCHING: Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS) has announced its plan to partner with the Sarawak government to develop the franchising industry in Sarawak.
PERNAS chairman Datuk Hazimah Zainuddin said the main goal is to encourage more entrepreneurs to join this sector by appointing franchisors and franchisees in the state.
PERNAS will also offer advice and guidance to companies wanting to expand their businesses from Sarawak to the peninsular.
Hazimah said this to the media after paying a courtesy call to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today (July 25).
Furthermore, PERNAS director Datuk Abu Bakar As-Sidek Mohd Sidek highlighted the BizFrancais programme which will take place at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) this Saturday (July 29).
“The BizFrancais programme aims to introduce the concept of franchising to entrepreneurs in Sarawak, helping them understand the opportunities available as franchisees and franchisors,” Abu Bakar said.
Deputy State Secretary (Economic Planning and Development) Datuk Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel and head of PERNAS Sarawak branch Vivisher Gider were also present.
