KUCHING: Strengthening border security between Indonesia and Sarawak was among the key issues discussed during a courtesy visit by the West Kalimantan Police to the Sarawak Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK).

West Kalimantan Deputy Police Chief Brig-Gen Roma Hutajulu led the delegation to meet with Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata at the latter’s office on Monday (Dec 9).

In a statement, Mancha said that the discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two law enforcement agencies.

“Topics addressed during the meeting included the exchange of information and experiences in managing security operations.

“Strategies to tackle cross-border crime, including drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the smuggling of controlled goods, were also highlighted,” he said.

The one-hour courtesy visit aimed to bolster the collaboration network between Sarawak IPK and the West Kalimantan Police, fostering stronger ties to improve security along the Sarawak-West Kalimantan border.
