KUCHING: The Sarawak government will continue to strengthen a competitive, inclusive and sustainable trade and investment ecosystem as part of its commitment towards making Sarawak a developed region by 2030.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan emphasised that ongoing efforts to attract more investments and businesses to Sarawak have shown positive results, thanks to the wisdom of the state’s leadership and business-friendly policies.

The government, he said, is focused on ensuring that economic growth benefits all levels of society while driving innovation and expanding global trade networks.

“Sarawak’s success as a progressive investment hub and a trusted trade destination is the result of close cooperation between the government, the private sector, and the people who stand united.

“In the spirit of Aidilfitri, let us work together to build a faster-growing economy for Sarawak and the nation, drive innovation, and strengthen global trade networks while ensuring that all levels of society benefit from economic development,” he said in his Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2025 message.

Awang Tengah, who is also International Trade, Industry and Investment Minister, stressed that economic development must go hand in hand with strong values such as integrity, compassion and moderation, not only in business but also in leadership and governance.

He also highlighted the importance of unity and mutual respect among Sarawakians, regardless of religious beliefs, culture or background, as a foundation for continued stability, peace and harmony in the state.

In the spirit of Hari Raya, he urged everyone to strengthen family and community ties through the tradition of visiting and exchanging greetings.

“Unity is the foundation of stability, peace and harmony within our community.

“Mutual respect is an essential value in our society, despite differences in religious beliefs, culture, language and backgrounds.

“These values are not only important in personal relationships but also in leadership, governance and business practices,” he added.

He also reminded those travelling back to their hometowns to prioritise road safety and adhere to traffic regulations to ensure a safe journey.
