SPAOH: Any reports or cases of bullying in schools must be resolved immediately according to established procedures.
Sarawak education director Omar Mahli stated that school administrators, particularly District Education Officers (PPD), principals, and headmasters (PGB), must address complaints and bullying cases in schools following the prescribed procedures.
“Do not take any complaints or misconduct related to bullying lightly. Resolve them immediately and take appropriate action,” he said during the Professionalism Dialogue Programme for Teachers with the Sarawak Education Director at the PPD Betong level, held in conjunction with the Sarawak Education Department (JPN) Ramadan Safari 2025 at SMK Spaoh.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of addressing student absenteeism and dropout issues.
According to him, failure to attend school can lead to an unbalanced future generation.
At the same time, Omar also noted the need to improve the quality of education, particularly in tackling literacy and numeracy issues as well as enhancing Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) achievement in Sarawak.
For the record, this programme serves as high-level management support for PPD and PGB, aimed at enhancing competency and leadership capabilities among PPD Betong staff.
Also present at the event were senior assistant director of the Islamic Education Sector, Hossen Mahrip; and Betong District education officer Mohamad Lela Alamsah.
