KUCHING: Sarawak’s capability to organise grand events on an international level has been lauded by Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan.
He said that the Asean Film Festival and Awards (AIFFA) 2023 received an overwhelming response, further boosted by the presence of the famous South Korean superstar, Rain.
“I have been informed that some fans waited since 10 am.
“I want to express my gratitude to the fans. This shows that Kuching can host big international events,” he said.
Snowdan said this with reporters after a meet-and-greet session with Rain at Old Courthouse Courtyard here today (Aug 4).
Apart from Rain’s attendance, many esteemed actors and actresses from the Asean region also graced the event in the city since August 2, making the AIFFA 2023 Gala Night even more memorable.
Rain has been selected as AIFFA 2023 Star Celebrity.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Tourism Datuk Sebastian Ting, MTCP permanent secretary Datuk Sherrina Hussaini and AIFFA 2023 festival director Livan Tajang.
