KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak’s futsal team is determined to deliver an outstanding performance at the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma XXI) final against Selangor this Friday (Aug 23) at 3pm, aiming to secure the gold medal.

Head coach Mohd Faizal Zamri expressed his high hopes for the team, especially after their remarkable journey to the finals.

Reflecting on their past performances, he noted that the team has come a long way, having been defeated by Johor in the semi-finals in 2011 and only reaching the quarter-finals in 2018.

“Alhamdulillah, today we have proven that Sarawak’s futsal squad can break the state’s record and bring the Bumi Kenyalang to the final stage,” he said.

He told the media this during a press conference after the semi-final match against Perak at the Samarahan Indoor Stadium on Wednesday (Aug 21).

Mohd Faizal further vowed that the team would give their best in the final, bolstered by the incredible support from their fans.
