KUCHING: The Sarawak Agriculture Department (DOA) has enhanced its service coverage and efficiency through an expanded logistical capacity, including the addition of 29 vehicles to its fleet.

DOA director Dominic Chunggat announced that the department had been approved for 28 four-wheel-drive vehicles and a bus, significantly strengthening its ability to support farming communities across the state.

“I am optimistic that with this logistical capacity, it will enhance the effectiveness of fieldwork involving monitoring, evaluation, and the delivery of assistance to the targeted groups.

“This will also expedite the process of delivering services to farming communities in need of support to advance their agricultural activities.”

Dominic said this during the handover ceremony of the vehicles, which was officiated by Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom at the Agricultural Engineering Division Office compound, Jalan Kumpang here on Tuesday (Jan 21).

Besides, the ceremony also saw the handover of 12 four-wheel drives donated by the Sarawak government to the DOA.
