PUSA: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a missing 69-year-old woman in Kampung Semarang, was called off after no new clues were discovered during the eight-day search.

The victim, Rahobah Murni, was reported missing after she failed to return home in the evening after going to her farm alone on Nov 13.

Saratok fire chief Nazry Mohamat said the search was divided into four sections with the strength of 35 personnel comprising the police, Civil Defence Force (APM) and villagers.

“The search was focused at the river area, the victim’s farm and the road leading to the THP Semarang Farm with an estimated radius of 1.5km,” he said.

This evening, SAR agencies had a discussion with the victim’s family member, which resulted in an agreement to call off the search. The operation will resume if there are new clues and findings of the victim.
