TANJUNG MANIS: A search and rescue (SAR) operation is underway for a 14-year-old boy who has gone missing in what is suspected to be a crocodile attack in a river at Rumah Dadat last Sunday.
In the second day of the search, the State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) informed that the SAR team continued the search in the morning assisted by villagers.
The operation was carried out using nine boats and with a search radius of 4km to 5km from where the victim was last seen.
It was reported that the Civil Defence Force (APM) also participated in the operation, using their assets.
Last Sunday, the victim, identified as Ricky Ganya, was attacked and dragged into the water by a crocodile while he was out collecting snails with his aunt and two friends.
Following the incident, relevant authorities were alerted at 11.28am and despatched SAR teams to the scene.
At present, there are still no signs of the victim.
