BETONG: Sales at the Ramadan bazaar here is expected to increase compared to last year, with projections reaching RM1.5 million.
The chairman of Pasar Tani Medan Betong, who is also the organiser of the Ramadan bazaar, Wan Halmi Wan Omar, expressed confidence that this target can be achieved based on previous years’ responses.

“Even in the past two or three days, I have noticed a large crowd of visitors. The first day of Ramadan already provided an early indication that many people would come, leading to increased sales.
“Therefore, I am optimistic that the RM1.5 million sales target set for traders can be met,” he said yesterday.
He explained that last year, the Ramadan bazaar recorded total sales of RM986,675.57.
“A sales increase is also possible as the number of participating traders has grown.
“Alhamdulillah, the response has been encouraging. This is the second year we are managing the Ramadan bazaar here. This year, we have gathered a total of 46 traders, compared to only 42 last year.
“In our efforts to achieve the sales target, we have also made several improvements.”
He noted that while last year they used 10×10 feet canopies, this year they are using larger 20×20 feet canopies to ensure traders have a more comfortable space.
“In ensuring consumer rights are protected, each vendor is assigned a number to facilitate complaints regarding sales…every number is registered under the vendor’s name.
“Additionally, we have allocated a special tent for the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) as a channel for any complaints if customers are dissatisfied.”
When asked about his favourite Ramadan bazaar delicacy, Wan Halmi mentioned bubur pedas and kuih bakul gula apong.
He urged the public to visit the Ramadan bazaar, which is strategically located with a beautiful view and ample parking space.
“Our operating hours are from 2pm to 8pm. Insya-Allah, come and visit.
“I am confident that this bazaar offers a variety of dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.”
