SIBURAN: Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn yesterday visited the Siburan Farmers’ Organisation (PPK Siburan) here.

The purpose of the visit was to address the concerns faced by smallholders in marketing their agricultural products, especially during the movement control order (MCO) period.

The PPK Siburan has been appointed to help market agricultural products that cannot be sold by small-scale farmers during Covid-19 MCO.

During the visit, Sagah was also briefed by PPK Siburan general manager Victoria Nigel on the progress of buying agricultural products from farmers.

She said so far, PPK Siburan had purchased bananas from farmers in Padawan areas such as those at Kampung Serumah, Gayu and Begu.

The products will be sent to wholesalers and distributed to charities as well as to frontliners such as the police, military and Ministry of Health personnel.

Also present were Siburan District Agriculture Officer Chris Owen and an entrepreneur appointed by the PPK, Eneng Sakub.
