KUCHING: The inclusion of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) in the History syllabus for secondary school has yet to be decided, says Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn.
Sagah explained that the decision on the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education (MOE).
“We are not sure yet because the matter is determined by the MOE. However if we look at the recent proposal, it looks like we are going towards that direction,” he said when met by reporters today (Jan 28).
Sagah expressed optimism about the inclusion of MA63, citing Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek’s proposal as a positive indication of the national education system’s progress.
“The specific inclusion of MA63 in the curriculum needs to be considered at the next stage.
“It is not something that can simply be added to the education plan and implemented immediately.
“We also need experts to write reference materials so that students can study them,” he added.
