SABC marks Hari Raya with visits to Sarawak’s top figures

KUCHING: On the first day of Hari Raya, the Sarawak Australia Business Chamber (SABC), led by its president Rodger Chan Siong Boh, made notable visits to celebrate the festive season with prominent figures in Sarawak.

The first stop was at the Astana, where the delegation visited Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

The TYT Hari Raya Open House provided a warm and welcoming atmosphere, bringing together more than 1,000 guests to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with the Head of State.

Next, the SABC delegation attended the Sarawak Premier’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also SABC patron, hosted the open house where more than 10,000 people were gathered.

Later, the SABC delegation visited His Excellency Raden Sigit Witjaksono, consul general of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuching, at the Indonesian Consulate, where they exchanged festive greetings.

The final stop was a visit to Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Minister cum vice-patron of SABC, at his residence.

During the visit, Chan presented a special cricket bat to Karim, signed by the legendary Australian cricketer, Sir Donald Bradman, along with a replica of the prestigious Cricket Ashes Cup.
