Rural funds of RM92,000 benefit 26 bodies and schools

MIRI: A total of 26 local associations, schools, and community organisations received contributions amounting to RM92,000 under the 2024 Minor Rural Project (MRP) for the Pujut constituency.

The contributions were presented by Pujut assemblyman and Mayor of Miri, Adam Yii Siew Sang, during a special ceremony at the Pujut Service Centre here recently.

Yii said that the Pujut Service Centre in committed to support the local community through various initiatives focused on well-being and unity.

“This government grant aims to assist community organisations in carrying out activities beneficial to physical and mental well-being, as well as fostering unity and social harmony.

“We are fortunate to have the support and cooperation of all parties in our efforts to build a better and healthier society,” he said.

He also shared the achievements of his service centre throughout 2024, highlighting that a total of 412 organisations, including educational institutions, religious groups, and non-governmental organisations, had benefited from the MRP allocation.

Of that total, 33 were religious organisations, 46 were educational institutions, and 333 were community bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Additionally, the allocation supported the implementation of 177 activities, including 88 religious events, 50 educational programmes, 12 welfare initiatives, and 27 community programmes.

Yii also took the opportunity to extend New Year 2025 greetings to all attendees, expressing hopes that the year would bring greater progress and prosperity to the community here.
