KUCHING: A female pedestrian died on the spot after she was allegedly run over by a lorry.
The accident happened at Mile 7, Jalan Penrissen last Friday evening.
State traffic police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, said a call about the accident was received around 4.30pm.
“The lorry was on the way to Kuching when it hit the woman who was crossing the road. The victim, Jilem Juwen, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The lorry driver was not injured,” he said in a statement.
Jilem’s body was taken to the Sarawak General Hospital for post mortem, and the case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
