MIRI: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is scheduled to drive along the Pan Borneo Highway September this year.
This was disclosed by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi during his inspection of the WPC 11 (Sungai Tangap-Pujut Link Road works package) of the highway here.
The programme is a collaborative effort between Istana Negara, the federal government, and the state governments of Sabah and Sarawak.
According to Nanta, the tour will begin from Telok Melano (0km) in Sematan, passing through Brunei Darussalam, to commemorate this year’s Malaysia Day celebration.
During the opening of the second session of the 15th Parliament recently, His Majesty expressed his desire to drive along the highway in both Sabah and Sarawak. He was pleased with the project’s progress, expected to be completed next year.
