KUCHING: Road users can look forward to smoother traffic flow once the road upgrading project from the Yayasan Sarawak intersection at Jalan Sultan Tengah to Santubong is completed.
In a speech at the Kejiranan Mesra (KJM) dinner held at a hotel here yesterday, Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said that his government has approved a dual carriageway to be built to Damai with an addition of a dedicated bicycle lane.
The project follows various other infrastructure projects that are in their implementation stage in the Santubong area, including the construction of a new settlement in Samariang, sports facilities such as a badminton court, Wisma Melayu Sarawak in Jalan Bako, Rambungan Bridge, and the University College i-Cats campus (i-Cats UC) in Kampung Terombol.
Also present at the dinner were Premier’s wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang; Abdul Rahman who is also the Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications; Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni; DBKU Mayor Datuk Junaidi Reduan and DBKU Director Mohamed Khaidir Abang and other representatives.
