PADAWAN: Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian is ready to contest in the upcoming 12th state election as he has done his utmost as an assemblyman for the past five years.
“I have been working hard since the day I was elected and not only when the election is just around the corner.
“Having said this, I want the Sarawak United People’s Party, under my leadership, to follow my style because if the candidates were to only work when election nears, it is a bit late already,” he told the media after officiating at the Kota Padawan Recreational Park launch yesterday.
The incumbent Batu Kawah assemblyman said every potential candidate wants to leave behind a legacy just as former Chief Minister Pehin Sri Adenan Satem did.
“We are trying our very best … people can see for themselves what we have done.
“With this, I hope Sarawakians will vote based on what we have done objectively and not based on emotion.”
Meanwhile, commenting on the list of potential candidates, Dr Sim disclosed that SUPP had submitted 20 names, but nothing can be confirmed yet.
“It is best to wait for the announcement from caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg
