SRI AMAN: Kampung Melayu Lubok Antu is set to experience a surge in development following the announcement of substantial allocations by Sarawak International Trade, Industry and Investment Deputy Minister, Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh.
He said that there are two significant allocations for the development of the area, including RM30,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) and RM200,000 under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP).
“The MRP allocation has been channelled to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Kampung Melayu Lubok Antu to enhance basic infrastructure and public amenities in the village.
“Meanwhile, the much larger RTP allocation will be utilised for long-term development projects that are expected to have a wide-reaching impact on the well-being of the local community,” he said during a Hari Raya Visit Programme at Kampung Melayu yesterday.
The Batang Ai assemblyman added that the substantial allocation is hoped to further accelerate development efforts and have a positive impact on the economy and welfare of the village community.
“This contribution reflects the Sarawak government’s commitment to ensuring that rural areas are not left behind in the state’s development progress.
“With this major financial boost, Kampung Melayu Lubok Antu is expected to grow rapidly and be on par with other areas, ultimately opening up more opportunities and facilities for its residents,” he said.
