MUKAH: SK Petanak Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) recently received RM10,000 from the government under a Minor Rural Project grant.
Tellian assemblyman Yussibnosh Balo handed over a cheque for the amount to a representative of the PTA at a programme entitled `Community Environmental Education Pilot Study-CEEPS which was held here over the weekend.
Staged at the Community Hall of Kampung Petanak Mukah on Saturday, the event was held by Natural Resources and Environment Board(NREB) Sarawak in collaboration with other local agencies.
The other local agencies were Mukah District Office, Dalat/Mukah District Council (MDDM), Mukah Divisional Health Department, Drainage and Irrigation Department, Sarawak Rivers Board, Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operative and Consumerism(KPDNKK), and Kampung Petanak Village Development and Security Committee(JKKK) and SK Kampung Petanak.
The event which also featured a talk, a colouring contest for primary school pupils, an environment quiz and an exhibition.
