PUSA: The government this year has approved a total of RM1.42 million under the Fishermen Special Housing Programme (PKPN) involving 119 participants to assist in the supervision of the Area Fishermen Association or Persatuan Nelayan Kawasan (PNK) of Layar Rimbas Pusa.
Beting Maro Assemblyman Haji Razaili Gapor said that this was one of the government’s efforts to help the fishermen.
“Through the Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) and PNK Layar Rimbas Pusa, the government approved the restoration project which will involve 119 houses that have been identified.
“The value of RM1.42 million allocated is the largest in the state as a form of social security networking to help the fishermen,” he said.
He was speaking at the opening of the PNK Layar Rimbas Pusa 29th Annual General Meeting at Kampung Kalok hall, here in Pusa yesterday.
He said the aid involved those in the area of Kampung Pusa, Kalok and the vicinity in order to enjoy more comfortable living conditions.
“The fishing community is very lucky because the government has provided much assistance to help strengthen the social security network, including the granting of subsidies, living allowances and other assistance.
“Therefore, there is no reason why the fishermen are not able to go forward and succeed.
“In fact, the the government’s help is not to make our society ‘lazy’, but rather a catalyst to redouble our efforts to achieve better results,” he said.
Razaili also wants the members of the public to be with the government.
Also present were the Director of LKIM Kusuadi Sallih, Pusa District Officer Haji Bujang Budin, Betong Region IV LKIM Officer Abang Safri Bawi and General Manager PNK Layar Rimbas Pusa Haji Sulaiman Dahan.
