PADAWAN: A local man died on the spot after a fatal motorcycle-car collision along Jalan Clinker, Batu 15 this morning (Jan 16).

The accident is believed to have occurred when the motorcycle skidded out of control because of the presence of soil spilled from a nearby construction site before colliding with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, when contacted, confirmed that the collision happened at around 7.35 am.

“As a result, the 37-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, while the driver escaped unscathed,” he said.

The victim’s body was later taken to the hospital for further action.

Mohd Irwan added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Meanwhile, firefighters from Siburan station were dispatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call.

They conducted flushing works to clear the road of hazards and directed traffic to ensure the safety of other road users.
