Rescuers find woman dead after breaking into residence

MIRI: A team of Lutong firefighters made a grim discovery upon gaining entry to a residence in Quadraplex Bandar Baru Permyjaya, here last night (Jan 25).

Lutong fire chief Henry Jugah said the station received a distress call at 9.55 pm, reporting a locked gate that obstructed access to the home.

“Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the gate was locked as reported. After assessing the situation, they used a power saw to cut through the fence,” Jugah explained.

Once inside, rescuers found a 42-year-old woman, weighing 134kg, lying unconscious on a bed.

Medical personnel on-site later confirmed that the woman had died.

The victim’s body was then handed over to the police for further investigation.
