BAU: Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep has called for the Bau Hospital to be upgraded.
He made the call during his speech while officiating at the KPT Prihatin Komuniti Sejahtera (KRIS) programmeat Kampung Sibuluh here today.
“It is time for the government to upgrade Bau Hospital. I believe there are a lot of doctors stationed there but the facilities are pretty lacklustre compared to those at the Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching.
“There are around 70,000 people living in Bau and in order to take good care of the people here, the hospital needs to be upgraded,” Henry said.
Henry also called on people to celebrate the upcoming Gawai responsibly as the COVID-19 virus was still around.
“Remember to wear your mask and bring your sanitiser when you visit,” he said.
Henry, who is also the Deputy Minister of Transport, thanked Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) for holding the event in order to provide body check-ups for the people here.
A total of nine booths were set up and seven doctors were stationed during the programme in order to provide consultations to the people.
