TATAU, BINTULU: A total of 7,098 households in the Kakus constituency received food assistance from the state government during the movement control order (MCO) period, disclosed Assistant Native Laws and Customs Minister Datuk John Sikie Tayai.
Speaking at the launching of the tar road of Rh Serai, Sungai Sepulau, Muput Kanan on Friday (July 24), Sikie, who is also Kakus assemblyman, also disclosed that the implementation of Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) projects for this year would be slightly delayed due to the MCO.
“However, all projects that had been planned will be continued until completion,” he assured.
Sikie also reminded village chiefs to update and gather information and profiles of their respective villages, as the information would be used as a guide to channel the right aid and assistance to people in need.
On the proposed road from Rh Bakis to Ulu Anap to Nanga Merit in Kapit, Sikie said he had discussed the matter with Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri James Jemut Masing and Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong Ijang.
