SARIKEI: The allocation of the Minor Rural Project (MRP) funds by the government must be utilised efficiently, avoiding any elements of misappropriation.
The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, who is also the MP Sarikei, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, said this was because the MRP funds were highly significant in accelerating the community development process in a particular area.
“Therefore, every recipient of the MRP grants must be trustworthy and use the allocated funds for the collective benefit of the community,” he said.
Huang said this during the MRP cheque presentation ceremony to 42 organisations at the Repok Constituency Service Centre on Wednesday.
The Repok assemblyman added that every recipient must work together to help in the development of Sarikei.
“The collaboration among associations, clubs, Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) is important in strengthening the development in the area,” he said.
