KUCHING: The ‘Sumbangsih Raya 2022’ continues to be an annual tradition of the Sarawak government in appreciation of the sacrifices made by members of the security and enforcement agencies who are often on duty during the festive season.

A total of 11,500 boxes containing serunding daging, nasi impit¸ fruit cake, peanuts and murukku will be distributed to 10 agencies, including Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) as well as Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), among others.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg disclosed that the total contribution this year had increased compared to last year’s 10,500 boxes.

He noted that this was due to the increase in the number of security and enforcement agency personnel who are on duty.

“On behalf of the Sarawak government, I would like to thank all security and enforcement agency personnel for their sacrifices, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said when officiating at the ‘Sumbangsih Raya 2022’ for security and enforcement agencies at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here yesterday.

“Thank you to the minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, who is always concerned about the welfare of the people despite busy resolving citizenship issues.”

Also present at the event were Abang Johari’s wife Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and other dignitaries.
